What exactly is a “baseline look?”
The free preset is similar to the “soft light” preset in the Modern Pack. This free preset will give you an idea of what the preset pack does in soft light conditions, like in shade or window light. You’ll see how it adds warmth and vibrance to the images while preserving skin tones.
What is this free preset missing compared to the full pack?
However, keep in mind that the power of the presets lies in the full system and the approach of Lighting Condition Based Development (LCBD). This system gives you powerful results that are consistent across all of your images, regardless of the lighting condition. LCBD also speeds up your workflow, allowing you to spend less time in front of your computer and more time out shooting.
In addition, this free preset does not come with the Installer that automatically installs and updates your preset pack whenever there is an update to Lightroom, an update to our preset pack, or a new camera released. It also does not come with the DVLOP profile, which standardizes the look across all camera makes and models.
